This ending is chosen by taking the right-hand path and then manually shooting the Power Conduit with your pistol four times. For most players it will be available alongside the Control Ending. The Control Ending is the second ending of the game.
This ending is chosen by taking the left-hand path and approaching the two electric handles: the scene will play out automatically once you get close to them. For most players will will be available alongside the Destroy option. You choose it by walking Shepard up to the white beam coming from the Crucible that's between the other two options. With such a high EMS rating, the main upshot of the Synthesis ending is that you are guaranteed to have no negative effects on the galaxy compared to other ending variations.
The Refusal Ending is unique as it's the only ending that is abjectly hidden. No matter which option you picked, you'll then see a scene of Liara 's time capsule device explaining the Reapers and the Catalyst.
As well, the Stargazer scene at the end will differ, with a female figure talking about the next cycle's victory against the Reapers rather than the elderly man. You can watch the credits or skip them to see this final scene no matter what ending you get. This scene will always be the same, except if you choose the Refusal Ending as described above.
Mass Effect 3 Wiki Guide. Last Edited: 18 Sep am. The exact mathematics behind the endings have not yet been determined in the Legendary Edition. As such, specific numbers are only given for the original launch version of the game and the Extended Cut DLC. The various ending permutations are described below. While their requirements are revealed, their effects will be hidden.

To view multiple endings based on the "final choice," you will be allowed to restart the last stretch of the final level after watching an ending, but ONLY if you turned Autosave off after finishing your conversation with the Catalyst. However if your EMS has changed since then, you will need to restart from Priority: Cerberus Headquarters for the new values to take effect. Players should aim for around as their target Total Military Strength score.
This is the requirement for unlocking the Perfect Ending and should ensure every possible option is available. Unless players have enough Total Military Strength and go for the Perfect Ending with Destroy, Shepard will always be killed in action. Synthesis and Control have no option where the Commander survives. At extremely low Military Strength, they will only receive one or the other option, and the Refuse path. If Shepard chose to destroy the Collector base in Mass Effect 2 , they will only have the option of the Control ending at the lowest Total Military Strength levels.
If they chose to save the Collector base, they will only have access to the Destroy option at these lowest levels. With so many possible endings to Mass Effect 3 , there is ultimately no objectively correct or best ending. Each ending will resonate with different players for different reasons. While it seems the trajectory of the series, particularly when dealing with the geth and quarian conflict and the krogan genophage, is pushing the player toward Synthesis, there are several drawbacks and moral consequences to that option that some players don't care for.
Many fans suggest that, given the objective through the entire Mass Effect trilogy was to defeat the Reapers and end the extinction cycle, Shepard ought to complete their goal and choose Destroy. This seems to be a popular option despite its difficult, sometimes heartbreaking consequences. It is also the only option if players want their Commander to survive. I still believe he only have me the regular three choices destroy, control, or synthesis. I went with destroy, like before, because I was a paragon Shepard and this was just too personal with the Reapers. I would go control with my renegade Shepard, and perhaps Synthesis IS the ideal ending, but I just don't feel like choosing it. Anyway, upon browsing on here since last night, I notice some talk about how you can refuse the three choices? How exactly do you go about doing this?
Because I don't recall there being a fourth, "refuse" option to choose Also, can someone just spoil for me what happens if you refuse the Catalyst's solutions?
